BuildHound Privacy Policy
BuildHound helps you identify construction materials, compare prices, and organize job and material lists. This policy describes exactly what BuildHound collects and how it is used.
What we collect
BuildHound collects the following, linked to your account and used only to make the app work (never for tracking or advertising):
- Photos you capture or choose. Site and material photos you take with the camera (or select from your library) are used to identify materials and are stored with your projects in your account.
- User ID. An account identifier (such as your email address) used to sign you in and keep your projects available across devices.
- Purchase history. Your subscription status, so paid features unlock correctly.
- Other user content. Job lists, material lists, and project details you create in the app.
Camera access
BuildHound asks for camera permission solely so you can photograph materials and job sites for identification and record-keeping. Photos are captured only when you take them. You can use much of the app without granting camera access.
No tracking, no ads, no sale of data
BuildHound does not track you across other companies' apps or websites, does not use advertising identifiers, does not show third-party ads, and never sells or rents your personal data. There is no third-party analytics in the app.
Where your data lives
Your account data, photos, and project content are stored on Quantrolix servers so they stay available to you across sessions and devices. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS).
Payments
Subscriptions purchased in the iOS app are processed by Apple through your Apple ID. BuildHound never sees or stores your payment card details.
Deleting your data
You can delete photos, lists, and projects in the app at any time. To delete your account and all associated data, contact us via the support page and we will complete the deletion promptly.
Children
BuildHound is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the effective date above will be updated and the new policy will be published at this same address before it takes effect.
